Sahih Bukhari - Um Livro Abrangente de Hadith

"صحيح البخاري" or "Sahih Al-Bukhari" is one of the most renowned books of hadith among Muslims who follow the Sunni tradition. It was compiled by Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail Al-Bukhari over a period of sixteen years. The book contains a selection of hadiths from a collection of six hundred thousand, making it a highly esteemed source of authentic narrations about the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Considered one of the six major collections of hadith, "Sahih Al-Bukhari" holds a significant position among the Sunni scholars. It is the first book to be compiled solely based on the criteria of authenticity and is considered by many as the most authentic book after the Quran. Covering various aspects of faith, jurisprudence, interpretation, history, asceticism, and etiquette, the book serves as a comprehensive guide for Muslims.

Imam Al-Bukhari's dedication to compiling this book is evident from the fact that he personally heard the narrations from more than seventy thousand individuals. The popularity of "Sahih Al-Bukhari" has only grown with time, leading to numerous commentaries, abridgements, annotations, and supplementary works by scholars, making it a cornerstone of hadith sciences. It is said that the number of commentaries alone exceeds eighty-two.
